World Food Day
Hungry to Help.
Today is world food day. A day where we spend time actively promoting worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all.
The charity I want to highlight today, is one that is close to my heart, @DominoFoundation.
Back into 2018 I had the opportunity to go volunteer with them for a couple months, witnessing and learning about all the needs there are in South Africa (and around the world) in relation to hunger and education. One thing that really tugged at my heart when I was there, was the fact that most of these kids rely on the nutrition program provided by this charity, as they may not have any other meal that day.
This program provides sandwiches 5 days a week for kids in schools - with sandwiches usually packed with protein (such as Peanut butter), to give these kids energy, to build their strength, and to help their brains function and so they can focus on learning.
What can you do?
DONATE!
Your financial donation would go a long way to support not only the children in need, but also the food suppliers - who are also in need of support during this COVID-19 season. It is incredible to be a witness and to be part of the impact this program has on these children; helping them grow and providing them with a more promising future by giving them the opportunity to not worry about being hungry while at school, to just focus on their education.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” – Matthew 25:35
