Know Your Why.

I got asked a really great question the other day. Why did you choose to pursue Personal Branding Photography instead of weddings, or family, or specifically corporate photography?

I have always had a fascination with learning about other people’s businesses and their stories as to how and why they chose to follow that career path.

With the photography skills I have been acquiring over the years, and my love for creativity and putting that creativity to good use, I thought I would combine these passions and pursue Personal Branding Photography.

We live in an overly saturated visual world, with social media these days where we can no longer rely on random stock images to tell our story.

WE NEED MORE.

The best asset each of us have, which makes us all different and interesting, is that we all have our own story and experiences to share which have lead us to be where we are today. Your best USP is YOU, to show your true authentic self and share your own story.

As human beings we are all looking for ways to connect with one another. People are more likely to connect with you and stick with you if you show up for them, and show up authentically - in a way that is true to yourself, because people can detect easily when someone isn’t acting like themselves.

Photos can play a big and useful part in helping you to show up, however not just any photo would do it justice. The photos which will help you show up best, in my opinion, are Personalised images which align with your branding, which also feature you.

Personal Branding photos take into account your brand values, your team’s personalities, and your company’s story. Using all this information to make sure your photos are set in the right place, with the best props to help you in telling your story.

By creating a relaxed and natural environment, together we are able to capture you in a casually composed way.

Other ways in which to convey your personality through your personalised brand images, are through your body language, facial expressions and also what you wear. In person, body language accounts for 55% of information conveyed about one’s feelings and attitude. This is a rather large amount, which can be utilised when trying to convey yourself genuinely through an image. People will read an image just like they read one’s body language - they do this to check the words which come out of their mouths align with the way they conduct themselves.

Why I chose Personal branding photography instead of any other genre of photography is because I love to learn about people’s stories and help them communicate it to your audience, through visually beautiful images in which you can feel excited and proud to share. I want to help others, using my creative skills to support those who may not have the experience.

It is a great challenge to learn about your personalities, your story, your brands values, and the use that information and create a still image which helps to tell your story.
