“Your brand is the single most important investment you can make in your business”

- Steve Forbes

Personal Branding is just the same. The more people get to know and trust you, the more willing they are to invest in your service or product. You clients might need to see you, chat to you a few times before this happens. Consistency is key!

This is where Personal Branding Photography comes in.

Personal Branding Photography is where you get to gather together all the unique and great things which represent your brand, and highlight them in your visual content. Its a compilation of photographs featuring you, you could look at them like they’re your own personalised stock images. These images range in genres, from headshots, to lifestyle, to products and service photos. All taken with great preparation and intention to help you visually portray your brand authentically and beautifully.

On a typical Personal Branding Photoshoot we would combine a number of elements to authentically convey your brand through photographs. This includes, careful thought over location settings to encompass your brand values - taking into the colours and what the location says about you. As well as, other elements, such as: outfit choices; asking questions for you to think about when choosing your outfit, and the one in which we cannot forget, posing, i.e. body language.

Your body language shares messages all the time. When it comes to personal branding shots, we take into account your personality, your ideal clients, and make sure your body language aligns with your personality and brand values. An example of this would be, if you were in the service industry, and you wanted to portray you spend a lot of time listening to your clients, one way to illustrate this behaviour is to lean forward, showing that you are interested in what they have to say. This could be done standing up, seated, whilst doing any activity. By leaning forward (toward the camera) it supports the idea you are interested in your clients needs, whereas if you were to lean back you could come across arrogant and uninterested.

To me, body language plays a big part in communicating your personality to your audience, as we naturally read body language all the time even in photos, you audience will gather part of your personality and how you may interact with them merely through a photo.
