MVH Design House is a small interior decorating and deign company, working with residential houses to help spruce them up and create the space you have always dreamed of. The company is run by two wonderful South African women in Hampshire, UK.

Maritza first approached me after meeting in an online networking meeting (thank you COVID), and we hit it off straight away, within two weeks we had a zoom call and photoshoot date booked in.

During our zoom call, I got to meet the two ladies, and had the opportunity to learn more about the story behind the brand and the business, to figure out ways in which we could tell those stories through the visual imagery associated with their business.

The main element of the story which greatly influenced the location of the shoot was the fact this business adventure all started from a conversation between two friends, dreaming big about their future and what they wanted to achieve. Therefore, the coffee shop setting was a must for the setting of their photos. We created a list of props and things which would help tell the story of their brand, even if they weren’t prominent in the photos they were there, helping the viewer to figure out the story in their minds.

The purpose of the shoot was to get new photos as they were in the process of updating their website (go check it out here if you wish to take a deeper look into what they do). As well as new headshots to match the photos on their website. One thing they really wanted to capture from this shoot, were not those stiff and uncomfortable headshots you often see with businesses, but to genuinely capture their personalities and joy.

This was such a fun project to work on, as we also hired out one of my favourite coffee shops in the Hampshire area - The Yard Hampshire. Which was the perfect setting to visually represent their story, their relationship, etc.
