"...People Buy How You Make Them Feel..."
A couple weeks ago I came across this quote which really made me think… How am I making my people feel? Do I really know how I want them to feel?
Personally I want people to feel happy and inspired when they see my work online, I want them to be able to see the authenticity behind every shoot, behind everything I do, and even see themselves getting photos taken of themselves - whether it be something silly or something more intentional - I would love for “my people” to feel like they know me.
When you see what I share online, how/what do you feel?
One way in which you take action on consciously working on how you make your people feel, is through your imagery, your visual aesthetics.
How are you showing up for your people online? Are you providing imagery which is aesthetically pleasing to the eye? Are you providing comedic visuals, such as memes or gifs? Or are you not that concerned about the consistency and beauty of the way your business is presented online?
For me, I find that I am more attracted to businesses or social media accounts where they have invested some time and energy in creating a consistent aesthetic or story throughout their visuals. Whereas when I come into contact with accounts and brands which you can see don’t try very hard, it makes me not want to stay too long or interact much with their posts.
…And I am sure I am not the only one who does this either…
We are naturally attracted to things which are pleasing to the eye…
Personal Branding photography is one way to create consistent content for your people, your ideal clients, to attract them to your page and encourage them to interact and engage with your content. By finding your style of visuals and edits to use on each post. Not only do you get aesthetically pleasing images authentically representing your brand, but you also get the quality. Quality of your images are an important element in impacting the way your people feel when they look at your online platform. Quality photographs infer quality of product or service. How do you want your people to view your business?
As a photographer, I have many images, however many of these images are of other people’s businesses and for them. When I use them, I try to tell their story, why they came to me in the first place, how I helped them - we are all suckers for a story, right?
Another way I share with my online audience, is through sharing snippets of my day, sharing highlights, lowlights, what I have been up to. These can be through images, text, video, anything really. I am always trying to put a smile on other people’s faces, encouraging them to embrace their joy, the way I know how to do this is to lead by example. This has definitely come across to many of my clients, which makes me super happy. Many have mentioned that they chose me to be their photographer because of my smile and my joy. (SUCCESS!!!)
So now I ask you, are you consciously working on how you make your people feel? Have you even thought about how you want them to feel?
If you would like to chat over the phone or get in touch to discuss anything, please do get in touch. And if you realise you need some photo content for your brand or business to help create an intentional “feeling” for your online audience, then I would really love to hear from you!
